Why is updating the umn.edu domain in QIP restricted to NTS?

0

The umn.edu zone is home to core service names for X500, central email, and web servers. Changes to umn.edu are strictly controlled in order to limit DNS errors that prevent the propagation of the names to our critical services. Fill out a form for the Technical Assistance Center to add CNAMEs in umn.edu. By having NTS add CNAMEs outside of domains you are authorized to make changes in, your ability to make further changes to the specific QIP object is removed.
