Why is uncertainty such a critical dimension?
Uncertainty is a prominent feature of the benefits and costs of climate change, as well as in important components of the science. Uncertainty is a normal part of the scientific process (both in the natural and social sciences) and it is important to remember that uncertainty does not imply a lack of knowledge, but is used to describe the range about which current understanding is defined.
