Why is Tom Brady considered a system Quarterback?

Every QB is a “system” QB to a certain degree. They all play as part of a predetermined offensive system which plays to its’ team strengths. What differentiates some QB’s from the crowd is an unusual ability (running and taking tacklers on like Duante Culpepper used to, releasing the ball very quickly like Marino used to or changing up the offense by audible like Manning does). Most QB’s are only as good as the entire offensive unit. Greatness involves those who can shine in a less-than-stellar system. What makes it entertaining to call Brady a “system QB” is that most New England fans are bandwagon fans without a deep appreciation of the game so they don’t understand and think you are demeaning Brady. It’s fun! Tom Brady is a very good, very successful System Quarterback, part of a great offensive system. Matt Cassel is a somewhat less good, less successful System Quarterback part of a great offensive system. Proof of this answer will now magically appear in the form of thumbs-down st
