Hey Joe Public, I don’t use batter so I don’t even have sausages! I just have this really nice slice of bread that I do butter and put on the griddle. Then I put the toad in the hold because he is very conforming…he goes right into the hole, cooks up to whatever degree I want (which is usually cooked through) and when I go to turn him over, he stays in the hole. I made these for my kids when they were little, and they loved them…I always thought it was because it was a toad in the hole. Created some very interesting stories about toads, holes, and habitats. Besides, they ate a nice, nutritious breakfast before beginning their day. Toads….hmmm….I have tried frogs’ legs but I won’t eat them any more….distant cousins…. Bagels sound good right now….they have a hole also, but no toads today!
