Why is there such a disparity between how male and female celebrities are “allowed” to age?
That’s an age old question. But I don’t think it’s a “double standard” in the way you mean it, as if it’s unfair. Because think about like this: Who decides which men are attractive? Women do. Who decides which women are attractive? Men do. Therefore, if women find older men attractive then and if men find younger women attractive then that’s just the way it is. No one is to blame. As for the reasons, I think men prefer youthful-looking women because female attractiveness is about being pretty and delicate and soft. Youthful qualities. Male attractiveness is often about being manly and handsome and perhaps powerful. Qualities that kind of increase with age. An older man is often very attractive to women because he seems “distinguished” and experienced and knows how to take care of her. Lots of young girls probably fantasize about much older men.
