Sanatana Dharma is misunderstood, that’s all, and many modern day ‘Hindus’ are practising a corrupted form of the faith. For instance, the caste system is nothing to do with religion, that’s a material evil. People also don’t understand the idea of demi-gods, that they’re equivalent to angels or deities, not Gods. There is only one God in true Hinduism, you can call Him what you like, but He is the source of everything. That is the meaning of Om; from One came everything. Indian Hindus need to start living more spiritually correct lives and stop practising evils like the caste system and meat eating, and the world needs to be less ignorant about every religion’s spiritual practices. And I think you’re confusing ‘Indian’ with ‘Hindu’; underneath we are all spirit souls. There is no nationality in the spiritual world.
