Why is there nothing in the Healthy Futures magazine about maternity services?
The proposals for services concerning children, young people, parents and babies including maternity are part of a separate consultation called Making It Better, Making It Real. This consultation concerns the future services for children, young people, parents and babies who receive their care from hospitals within Greater Manchester, East Cheshire and the High Peak. Obviously some of the reasons for making changes in these services also apply to adult health care. There are also strong links between the health services in Making it Better and Healthy Futures. We need to make sure that changes made in one area or to one service are consistent with other current or planned services. We have been working closely with the Making it Better programme to make sure that proposed models of care work with and not against each other.
