Why is there not a PostScript version of New Athena Unicode, as there was for Athenian or Kadmos?

The old-style PostScript font, such as Athenian or Kadmos, is limited to 256 characters, which is not enough for a Unicode font. The newer format is OpenType (.otf fonts), which can be produced with the PostScript outlines. But such fonts are not yet handled well by many applications, and there is not a compelling reason to devote time to producing separate fonts in that format. Return to top of FAQ.
