Why is there no Tort Reform in the current legislation?

0

My assumption as to why Tort Reform is not included in the current Healthcare Reform Bill is that it may be directly related to the estimation that 95% of all monies raised for political donations by TRIAL LAWYERS is given to DEMOCRATIC Campaignees. Why isn’t removing regulations preventing across state lines competition between insurance carriers part of this reform? Allowing a free market environment where insurance companies can compete by lowering cost to the insureds should be self evident as means to reducing health care costs. You can not create a competitive market by creating a monopoly-which is exactly what a government run healthcare system would be.
