Why is there no immersion in a domestic Geo Climate Control heat pump System?
Some suppliers will undersize a heat pump and use a built-in electric immersion for space heating, which boosts the output of the machine. This will significantly reduce the overall efficiency of the machine while running at full demand as an immersion is much less efficient than a heat pump. At Geo Climate Control we accurately size all machines for the building therefore there is no need for the electric immersion. This dramatically improves the system’s overall efficiency when compared to other systems and significanlty reduces your overall running costs. The implications of having a built-in immersion affect your BER Rating, as a significant penalty would be imposed on the overall BER rating. However, this is not the case with a Geo Climate Control system as the maximum benefit is awarded under the BER scheme.
