Why is there no desktop weatherpixie for the Mac?

Up until OS 10.4 (Tiger) there wasn’t an easy way of providing this sort of content for Macs. With Tiger, Apple gave us the option of writing dashboard widgets, however Weatherpixie is unlikely to get a widget until I get a mac capable of running Tiger.
