Why is there no Channel 1 on TV?

0

There is no Channel 1 in North America, Period. There used to be back a few decades, but the FCC did in fact reassign it for use by mobile users. When transmitters started getting more and more powerful, it was found that Channel One (Because of its hertz range) started to interfere with everything from Airplane/Control Tower communications to Hospital Machinery. I think where people are getting confused here, it the difference between “Channel 1” and “Cable 1”. People just never get used to referring to the “channels” you get on Cable *AS* “Cable ‘Whatever'” (Which is the proper name) and just continued to refer to them as “Channels” You used to see Commercials (PBS used to do it A LOT) that advertised themselves as “WKRD, Channel 3, Cable 46” What I said above is why. Channel and Cable “Channel” are two different things.
