Why is there no arginine in Pre-Surge, I though arginine was supposed to increase NO?
Arginine is the precursor to Nitric-Oxide (NO) and it does cause vasodilation, so it was easy for people to confuse that these effects were brought about through it increasing NO. But this assumption is wrong, as studies have repeatedly shown arginine is not the rate limiting factor for NO synthesis in humans, meaning by taking extra, it does not drive your body to make more NO as a result. Even when large oral doses of arginine were taken at 7-20grams a day were taken, the studies show no increase in NO levels. The research DOES NOT support that taking extra arginine orally will increase NO levels. Note: However arginine DOES increase vasodialtion , but this effect is believed to brought about through arginine’s ability to spike insulin and insulin having direct vasodialtion effects.
