Why is there no adult shinny hockey in the evenings during the winter?
The TLC, like all other community facilities follow allocation policies and must maximize the use of available space, and as a priority, schedule youth related programs first. With the situation being that demand for ice from prominent youth ice user groups exceeds available space, especially during prime time hours, activities like drop in shinny are difficult to schedule. The demand by minor sport associations has increased, resulting in activities such as shinny to be preempted, as well as other adult ice bookings moved to start later in the evening. We believe that offering shinny at a later start time like, 11:15 PM, would not prove to be attractive to shinny participants.
