Why is there more than one entry for some stations, for example Blackpool appears twice?

0

Multiple entries indicate that either (a) a station has been moved to a different site and its position has changed, for example Blackpool changed from blac to blak, or (b) the station’s name and hence 4 character identifier has changed, but position has not, for example Mallaig, mall to malg (to avoid conflict with EUREF file names). In the first case the recording started field changes to recording period, blac for example changes to 01126 – 01334. In cases of multiple entries, the station log files and the headers of each RINEX observation file should be studied carefully.
