Why is there limited coverage when GPS works anywhere in the world?
Our GPS device or cell phones works on the carrier’s network (BOOST Mobile) to transmit its location to our servers. If there is no carrier coverage where the unit is, there is just no way for us to know its status. In addition, the web-based user interface utilizes Google map data for displaying location. However, if Google does not provide map data in a certain country, the user is still able to use satellite data to display location. In any event, remember that we do save the device’s status from its last transmission. That means that we can show you where the last known location of the device or cell phone was, and what its signal strength was at that time.
