Why is there gas or sample leakage?

A If there is any indication of gas or sample leakage from the Extruder, it is recommended that the unit be re-assembled. Ensure that all the “O” rings are seated squarely, that the barrel is mounted squarely onto the base, that the manifold is seated squarely onto the barrel, and that the wing nuts are tightened evenly and completely for proper alignment. If leaking persists, test the unit by covering the filter support (without inserting membranes), re-assembling the unit, and pressurizing the unit to 600 psi under water. The gas bubbles will indicate where the leak is. If the leak is from a fitting, unscrew and replace the teflon tape around the threads. If an “O” ring is leaking, replace it.
