Why is there an over representation of ethnic minority groups?
In other longitudinal studies, like the British Household Panel Survey, there are often insufficient numbers of ethnic minority participants to allow researchers to analyse the differences between different groups in the population. As ethnic diversity, and issues of adaptation, opportunity and inclusion are of wide general interest and highly salient for research and policy purposes, respondents from these groups have been boosted to ensure that there is a large enough sample of these groups to gain a true picture.
