Why is there a need for people to sign-up as bone marrow donors?
Thousands of patients with leukemia and other life-threatening diseases depend on donors to find a match to save their life. Patients need donors who are a genetic match. Even with a registry of millions, many patients cannot find a match. Donors of all races and ethnicities are needed. Only 3 out of 10 patients will receive a transplant.
