Why is there a loophole in OSHA standards for residential builders?
When the standards were written, input from the residential industry was sought. An alternate fall protection plan focused on increased hazard awareness training was thought to be a viable option. This is fine if training is getting done and fall protection procedures are being enforced; but this is not the case. Our work will hopefully stimulate a movement within OSHA to re-examine these standards and affect a positive change.
