Why is there a higher rebate for rainwater tanks which are connected to toilets and/or washing machines?

In addition, using water for every day uses means there is always capacity in the tank to collect water when it rains, and reduces the likelihood of overflow during periods of heavy rain. However, connecting a rainwater tank to a toilet or washing machine is more expensive, so the rebate is higher to encourage homeowners to take the next step and connect. If you are claiming the additional rebate for plumbing the rainwater tank into your house, you must provide evidence with your rebate application that a licensed plumber has completed the connection(s).
