Plans for a White Water attraction in this part of the Lee Valley Regional Park go back 15 years and have been part of the LVRPA and British Canoe Union strategic plans, way before the Olympic bid. Extensive studies were carried out as to the suitability of the area to build the Centre. This site near Waltham Cross was selected as the ideal location.
