Why is the War of 1812 considered to be something of a defeat in US history?

The U.S. lost more battles than did Great Britain and suffered slightly more casualties except in the battle of New Orleans which was a decisive defeat for Britain but the battle occurred technically right like a week after the war ended plus the white house was burned down by the British. But the U.S, gain everyone it wanted politically from the war. Before the war the British had been inciting and arming the Indians to attack the American frontier the British agreed to stop this in the peace terms. Also the British agreed to stop pressing Americans sailors into the British navy. The British were also interfering with U.S. trade with other nations and they refused to recognized our sovereignty. All these problems led to us declaring war on Britain and Britain agreed to stop doing all these things in the peace treaty we signed with them at the end of the war. So militarily it was a defeat.
