Why is the war in Iraq a good thing?
As much as I like History, Military History in particular, and I do because I reply to many Qs on the subject, the idea of ‘war’ and ‘good thing’ being in the same sentence is not something I can accept. That doesn’t mean Saddam Hussein was a good man. That doesn’t make Hitler OK. That doesn’t mean that I am a pacifist. What it does mean is that the winners write the history books and that God is on the side of the big battalions. I suggest the reading of the lyrics of the Dylan song ‘With God on our Side’ might exemplify the point I am making…….
