Why is the VCF asking applicants for demographic information on my organization’s staff and board members?
A. The VCF believes that the most effective organizations are reflective of the communities and populations that they serve. Supporting diverse communities is a core value of VCF Community Fund grantmaking. We use demographic information on each grant applicant’s staff and board as one factor among many to help us determine whether the organization is able to meet the needs of Vermont’s increasingly diverse communities. This demographic data is highly confidential and will not be shared outside of the VCF in any form that identifies individuals or organizations.
