Why is the Use SpamSieve option disabled in the Spam Handling preferences?
In order to use Mailsmith’s SpamSieve integration, you must have both Mailsmith 2.0 or later, and SpamSieve 2.1.3 or later installed. (SpamSieve updates may be downloaded from the C-Command web site, or obtained from the Mailsmith disk image, which includes the most recent version of SpamSieve available when it was produced.) If you have recently updated to a new version of either Mailsmith and/or SpamSieve, and this option has suddenly become inactive (greyed out), the following steps should serve to correct the problem: • Quit both Mailsmith and SpamSieve, • Make sure you have only one copy each of Mailsmith and SpamSieve installed, and if there are any old versions in the Trash, Empty the Trash; then, • Launch SpamSieve directly from the Finder, by double-clicking its icon (do not use the Dock icon, or an application launcher), • Launch Mailsmith (again, do so by double-clicking its icon), • Open Mailsmith’s Preferences window, and verify that the “Use SpamSieve” option in the Spam
