Why is the use of urban an issue with formaldehyde emissions?

In many cases, urban wood sources will not only include solid wood products (2 X 4s, etc) but it will also include composite material such as particleboard and MDF from cabinets, furniture and flooring. The binder used in the initial manufacture of these products may release additional emissions during subsequent manufacture, possibly making it difficult to meet regulated emissions levels. Arclin’s E-Sorb™ products are designed to absorb this additional formaldehyde source to ensure emissions are kept below permissible levels.
