Why is the US Citizenship test so easy? We need to make it more difficult?
I am in favor of making the exam more difficult to pass. Contrary to what one of the previous posters suggested, old people should not be given any special treatment just because their knowledge about these general basic facts may not be fresh enough in their memories or may not be there at all. It is the same as deciding to ask some people easier questions on account of sex, race, political leanings, etc. If America wants to be fair, US immigration officials must pick the questions for each person taking the exam randomly. I also agree that the questions are too easy, too general, and, what is almost always involved with generality, extremely vague. They are easy because, as I have typed previously, they are basic facts everybody should know, regardless of whether one wants to become a citizen or not.
