Why is the unemployment rate for blind people so high?
There are a number of factors in the national 70% unemployment rate for blind adults. Many employers and members of the public are unaware of the assistive technology available to visually impaired people that enable them to do their jobs. The Dallas Lighthouse and other organizations are working hard to change those perceptions.
