Why is the tournament buy-in split into two parts?
The tournament fees are divided into two amounts for the following reason: in a regular table game a ‘rake’ is taken from the pot as a fee for providing the table, but this cannot be done in a tournament as there is a limited number of chips in play. Because of this the tournament buy-in is split into the prize pool amount and the rake that is paid to the company for providing the software.
