WHY IS THE STATIC LEVEL IMPORTANT?
Static level is important because that is what determines whether or not you need a shallow well pump or a deep well pump. The actual pumping depth is from the static level, not the overall depth of the well. If you have a 200′ deep well and a static level of 20′, you are actually pumping from a 20′ depth and not a 200′ depth. In order to determine how deep a hand pump you need, base your decision on the static level.
