The law (Commissioner for Environmental Sustainability Act 2003) requires the Commissioner to report at least once every five years, which means that the first report is due by 2008. It takes time to develop a comprehensive State of the Environment report that covers the full range of pressures on the environment. The report, to be published in December 2008 will be a comprehensive document that examines in detail the State of Victoria’s Environment across a range of topics.
