Why is the SolarCarShare more expensive than, for example, CityCarShare?
a. There are several reasons, most of which derive from our mission, which is to provide shared mobility powered by local sunlight. The sunlight part means that most of our vehicles need to be electric, either all electric or hybrids (such as the Prius). Sharing all electric vehicles is, we think, probably the only effective way to get electric vehicles to replace ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) vehicles, but that does require more expensive and complex remote access and monitoring hardware and software to be specially designed and built for us.
