Why is the Shire introducing paid parking?
The Shire of Roebourne’s car park has undergone a $6.9-million redevelopment to improve the services for patrons of Karratha Airport. This redevelopment has provided over 1000 parking bays, including short and long term areas, as well as bays for hire cars and airport staff. Due to the extended services and to streamline the use of the car park, paid parking is being introduced, to ensure everyone can find a car park easily. The introduction of car parking rates will assist in ensuring the ongoing high level of maintenance of the airport, including continued improved facilities and services for passengers and visitors.
