Why is the scoreboard always changing scores during a match?
Parents: please know that the scoreboard (aka flip-book) is only a reflection of the score. The official score is kept by the scorekeeper who is tracking the game on the scoresheet. Sometimes the scoreboard operator makes mechanical mistakes and must double-check the score against the scoresheet. Players: please understand that nothing gets a casual observer more riled up than having the scoreboard constantly change during the match (other than with the points in the game). Updating the correct score in a timely manner while staying focused and on top of the scoresheet will help reduce this extraneous noise from the crowd.
