Why is the scale 0 to 100?

The scale for the Emotional Intelligence Appraisalâ„¢ is a 100 point scale because of the familiarity this range of scores holds for people. A large majority of people have attended education systems where the same range of scores was applied to their evaluations. Generally it is much easier for someone to compare their score of 77 in one skill to a 93 in another, than it is to compare the equivalent raw scores (a 4.2 and a 5.1). While there is no absolute level of mastery for emotional intelligence skills (these skills can always be developed further), it is accepted that the higher you score the better you are at using emotional intelligence skills, and the more likely that the skill is a strength for you to leverage in your career and personal life.
