Why is the Roman Coliseum a wonder?

One reason is that it was built in AD 72 and still stands. It was also the world’s first arena. They had elevators in the arena and could put live wild animals on the arena floor through trap doors ( this is before motors were invented), they also had sea battles on the arena floor as well as games. It could hold 50,000 people, had drinking fountains, reserved seating, and a shaded area in the hottest part of the day. Considering the how it was built and the methods they used to build it that is what makes it a wonder of history. When you look at it is is amazing to see.
