Why is the Roadmap to End Global Hunger necessary?
MM: [The Roadmap to End Global Hunger] is necessary as an organizational tool. I think the brilliance of the Roadmap is that the number of people that co-signed it and that it is an organizing tool that brings people together and focuses attention. In a town as complicated as Washington with so many issues, we’d like to think that ours is the most compelling, but the truth is there are so many issues in play simultaneously. I just thought it was a very important and well done document. RR: When you look at this, we are in situation where there were 50 or more organizations that are involved with…hunger relief globally as well as agricultural development that signed onto the Roadmap. One of those, InterAction, represents 150 organizations…so it’s a huge undertaking to bring all those [groups] under the umbrella of this Roadmap.
