Why is the recognition so poor although the printout is high quality?

When scanning a document into Kanji OCR, the higher the resolution (or dots per inch) selected, the better the recognition will be. We do not recommend selecting a resolution or dpi below 100. For optimal recognition, please use 300 dpi or higher. The selection of this option will vary depending on your brand of scanner, but generally, it is referred to as either dpi or resolution. Also, make sure you have the correct text attribute (such as horizontal Japanese, vertical Japanese, mixed Japanese, or English).
