Why is the racing community skeptical of the concept of drifting a Skyline?
When most people think of the Skyline, they automatically think of the GT-R, which uses a computer controlled AWD system that applies drive/torque to the front differential when slippage is detected by the AWD system’s computer, which makes drifting in one really difficult. The non-GT-R, or non-AWD Skylines are good for drifting, especially the R32 and R34 due to their RWD set-ups. The R33 isn’t commonly drifted due to it being heavier, longer and a bit wider than the other two. It’s not uncommon to see RWD Skyline turbos drifting in Japan. A few of my older Navy friends and a few guys I know now use them for drifting all the time, so don’t worry about what other people say/think, they may just be misinformed.
