Why is the Principal Investigators institutional email account address used for the unique User ID?
Valid institutional email accounts confirm the individuals relationship with an organization. The institutional affiliation verifies the relationship with the Office of Research Ethics and provides the authority to accept electronic submissions. Email accounts are unique within their domain (the part that comes after the @ symbol) and this meets the requirement for unique IDs.
