Why is the PRC surveying aubergines in 2007?

0

When we set up the 2007 programme we planned to carry out a small survey in response to the results coming through the EU’s Rapid Alert (RASFF) system. In June we looked at the alerts issued in late 2006 and ea`rly in 2007. We found that we are already surveying most foods with alerts in 2007. Therefore we felt that aubergines were the best candidate for this survey. We also have a routine EU survey of aubergines planned for 2008, and we will use this year’s survey to make sure we are fully prepared for this larger survey.
