Why is the pink dolphin an endangered species?

0

The Chinese Pink Dolphin population is dangerously low at only 100. In September of 2009 a young male was beached and died from being caught in a fisherman’s net. He showed signs of having already been sick from malnutrition and pollution. The Amazon River dolphin is very friendly and readily comes up to the boats of its only enemy – humans. It was protected for a time by the legends of the native people, but modern man has carelessly hunted them and injured them by non-sustainable use of the rivers and poisoning the water with mercury.
