Why is the PBS Safety Net threshold the same for single people as for families?
A. The same general or concessional Safety Net threshold is applied to a family unit whether the unit consists of an individual, couple or a family with dependent children. This approach results in a straightforward system for ease of understanding by users and ease of administrative interpretation and application.
