Why is the Operating Levy millage on the November ballot higher than it was on the March ballot?
Two funding factors have changed since the last election. First, the County Auditor has lowered property valuations, which reduces the amount of local property taxes available to the school district. Secondly, funding projections from the state have been reduced. The combination of these two factors, force us to seek additional millage on this ballot.
