WHY is the Ontario Sings program needed?
Many studies have found choral singing can have a positive impact on youth and the community. Chorus America, the national service organization for North American choruses, recently released a report that stated choral singers are “far more likely to be involved in charity work”, are “more aware of other people’s life experiences” and believe their singing “is a way of giving back to their communities.” Ontario Sings aims to promote and encourage youth choral singing in hopes of contributing to the cultural, social and economic well-being of communities within the province of Ontario.
