Try this. In your browser menu bar choose VIEW, ENCODING, JAPANESE. There are probably two or three different Japanese encodings, so just choose them one at a time until the page looks like Japanese. You don’t need to install anything to see the characters in Japanese. Of course, you will have to be able to understand Japanese to understand the page’s meaning. But if you want to type things in Japanese you will need some extra software. You will need to go to the Microsoft website and download something called Microsoft IME.
