Why is the nutrient reservoir larger than the planters?

0

The size of the reservoir partially determines how long between nutrient changes: a smaller tank is less obtrusive, but the nutrient will be depleted sooner. Our 34 gallon reservoir is large enough to cover a 10-pot system, meaning a 3-pot system can go a long time on it.
