Why is the Nokia PC Phone a browser and system tray application instead of a small browser plug-in?

We thought about this and decided to include a system tray application too. The reason was that we wanted to create a new communication experience to those of us who use PC’s and a phone at the same time. We wanted to make it possible for the user to respond fast to incoming SMS’s and calls regardless of the state the user is in. A browser only approach wouldn’t have made this possible. You wouldn’t get a notification if you were using some other application than the browser.
