Why is the new library a joint use – community and school?
School and community joint use projects have emerged in California as a viable and attractive alternative in an age of shrinking public resources. The costs of salaries, materials and operations have skyrocketed, leaving both schools and public libraries with decaying facilities, shrinking materials and decreasing hours. The joint use will offer the services needed for the growing community while saving funds needed to operate the library.
